Capi2 Nederland BV, manufacturer of the revolutionary Capi2 distributed power system for sailing yachts and power boats, is pleased to announce their latest project: a Capi2 installation in the spectacular new Catana 59 catamaran produced by French boat builder Catana.
Capi2 is based on intelligent bus technology. The AC and DC distributed power system is controlled electronically by software. Tijmen Harberink from Capi2 Nederland BV explains: "One or more cable looms are installed inside the boat. Several power modules are then installed on these cables. The modules supply the power for the lights, instruments and pumps. A chip inside each module communicates with the Catana control panel, which is tailor made by us for Catana, and gives the customer the exact status of all controlled electric devices.
The boat is developed by the Catana shipyard, assisted by several architect firms, and is scheduled to be launched by the end of this year. The interior fittings of the Catana 59 are innovations that set new standards of comfort and offer truly unique living spaces. The exterior of the Catana 59 is particularly elegant, with its reverse bows and inward-curving dagger boards. the new hulls have achieved even higher scores than those of its popular predecessor, the Catana 58. www.catana.com
