Capi2 in the first KER 53 C/R
Nuenen, (October, 2008) – Capi2 Nederland BV, manufacturer of the revolutionary power distribution system for yachts and powerboats, will be installing Capi2 in the first KER 53 Cruiser Racer, designed by Jason Ker. The yacht will be built at Premier Composite Technologies (PCT), Dubai. The KER 53 is now under construction and will be ready early 2009.

Premier Composite Technologies founded its experience in composite yacht construction in Germany during the late eighties and early nineties with the construction of specialized components like carbon fiber/titanium rudders, keels, spreaders and steering systems for important organizations like Whitbread/Volvo Around the World, America’s Cup, Admiral’s Cup and for Maxi yachts.
Bringing their expertise in composite boat building with them, their success in Germany was established in Malaysia under Dian Kreatif. Apart from high-tech racing yachts like Mumm 30, Farr 40 and Farr 52, they also built custom designed super-maxis, and cruiser-racers like the Mills Design 46ft and the Farr 520.
Premier Composite Technologies now continues its trend for excellence in Dubai, building a variety of high-performance yachts, powerboats and other marine vessels. It is also contributing to the region's unique sailing traditions with an exciting modern interpretation of the traditional dhow for the racing fleet in Dubai.
Jason Ker
Jason Ker, mastermind of the startling America's Cup 2007 entry “Team Shosholoza”, accepted the challenge and came up with the blue print of this perfect boat.
The challenge Jason Ker had to face when asked to come up with the concept for the new KER53 C/R was complex. To be fast, win races under IRC and at the same time to be safe and comfortable for performance cruising were the key elements in the owners' brief. An enhancement of renowned “Magic Glove”, taking advantage of America's Cup technology, such as tank testing and CFD analysis, and the latest in interior design thinking from Design Unlimited, the concept for the KER53 C/R was born.
